I am here, but not home?

Does that make any sense? I am back here in Plainsville sleeping in my own bed at night. But not here at my house giving it some extraordinarily needed attention...or my blog.
My living room, kitchen, front and back porch, and laundry room have piles to navigate and yesterday marked a week that the Crumbs haven't eaten a home cooked meal. JBF always takes over my life for two solid weeks come sale time.
We are now on the downhill slide. Checks will be issued and mailed today. Then it is general clean-up of the aftermath and the Official Start for planning the next sale...
In the meantime, I wanted to share the other new names being christened in our household.
The Crumbs bestowed Mr. Cootie on their loving father. So he in turn crowned Boy Child ~ Scab and Girl Child ~ Pooter.
Apparently, we are a sight to behold. A dirty, scabby, gaseous family that give people cooties.
Niiiice.
It's a good thing I home school and deprive them of social interaction with others...

Love Note to My Big Shooter: THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU... I could not have accomplished this sale without your loving, kind, supportive and thoughtful soul there. You are what makes our lives matter. I love you.

Crumb Snatcher Speak & Clarification

Girl Child: What would you change your name to, if you could?
Me: Hmmm...I'd have to think on that one. I'd want it to be different. But, not "way out there" different. I'd want it to have a reason or a meaning...and it'd need to describe me in one word.
Girl Child: Oh! I've got one then. It's perfect. I think it should be Skally Wag. But wait...that's two words...

Thank you Spawn, thank you.
Note from the Editor: Just returning to the real world after a week of whirl-wind JBF activity. Posts may be scattered and scatter-brained for the next few days while we wrap up the ends and issue checks. Thank you for your patronage in my absence my Bloggy Friends.
As I was reading the comments I realized I did not clarify the post about the Illegal Dumping Grounds. That was not me personally speaking. It was written by a member of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps from the Tucson Chapter.
To my dear friend Soliloquy ~ Yes, sadly this is very true. Click here and read more about it at the bottom of the page.

You may or may not know, but I am not really here.
Haven't been since Tuesday.
I will be back from JBF on Sunday...or Monday.
Have a fabulous weekend.

Metlting Pot or Dumping Grounds?

PICTURES OF OUR BEAUTIFUL SONORAN DESERT IN AZ.
HERE IS A REAL EYE OPENER FOR YOU.
ANOTHER MONSTER LAYUP/REST AREA DISCOVERED BY MCDC AZ SEARCH & RESCUE

We breathed a sigh of relief the day the Senate defeated the Amnesty Bill, but the USA is still being invaded! We discovered one of the biggest layups we have ever found. This layup is on an 'illegal super - highway' from Mexico to the USA (Tucson) used by human smugglers. This layup area is located in a wash area approximately 5 of a mile long just south of Tucson.

We estimate there are over 3000 discarded back packs in this layup area. Countless water containers, food wrappers, clothing, and soiled baby diapers. And as you can see in this picture, fresh footprints leading right into it. We weren't too far behind them. As I kept walking down the wash, I was sure it was going to end just ahead, but I kept walking and walking, and around every corner was more and more trash!

And of course the trail leading out of the layup area heading NORTH to Tucson, then on to your town tomorrow. They've already come through here. Is this America the Beautiful?
Or another landfill? The trash left behind by the illegals is another of the Environmental Disasters to hit the USA. Had this been done in one of our great Northwest Forests or Seashore National Parks areas there would be an uprising of the American people........but this is remote Arizona-Mexican border.
You won't see these pictures on CNN, ABC, NBC or the Arizona Repugnant. Nor will they mention the disease that comes from the human waste left in the desert. They do talk about light bulbs a lot though...

We Shall Never Forget...

Click on the picture above to visit a eye-witness's picture diary of the day.
When will we look at a plane flying low and not think of this day?
When will we stop worrying about our children being vulnerable?
When will we be able to look at a Middle Eastern man and not wonder?
When will we trust again?
Will we ever?

Pledge of Alligence

Back in May I received this email. Not being a particularly large McCain fan yet, I now wonder what made me save it for so long...

The Pledge of Allegiance - by Senator John McCain

"As you may know, I spent five and one half years as a prisoner of war during the Vietnam War. In the early years of our imprisonment, the NVA kept us in solitary confinement or two or three to a cell. In 1971 the NVA moved us from these conditions of isolation into large rooms with as many as 30 to 40 men to a room.

This was, as you can imagine, a wonderful change and was a direct result of the efforts of millions of Americans on behalf of a few hundred POWs 10,000 miles from home.

One of the men who moved into my room was a young man named Mike Christian.

Mike came from a small town near Selma , Alabama . He didn't wear a pair of shoes until he was 13 years old. At 17, he enlisted in the US Navy. He later earned a commission by going to Officer Training School. Then he became a Naval Flight Officer and was shot down and captured in 1967. Mike had a keen and deep appreciation of the opportunities this country and our military provide for people who want to work and want to succeed.

As part of the change in treatment, the Vietnamese allowed some prisoners to receive packages from home. In some of these packages were handkerchiefs, scarves and other items of clothing.

Mike got himself a bamboo needle. Over a period of a couple of months, he created an American flag and sewed it on the inside of his shirt.

Every afternoon, before we had a bowl of soup, we would hang Mike's shirt on the wall of the cell and say the Pledge of Allegiance.

I know the Pledge of Allegiance may not seem the most important part of our day now, but I can assure you that in that stark cell it was indeed the most important and meaningful event.

One day the Vietnamese searched our cell, as they did periodically, and discovered Mike's shirt with the flag sewn inside, and removed it.

That evening they returned, opened the door of the cell, and for the benefit of all of us, beat Mike Christian severely for the next couple of hours. Then, they opened the door of the cell and threw him in. We cleaned him up as well as we could.

The cell in which we lived had a concrete slab in the middle on which we slept. Four naked light bulbs hung in each corner of the room.

As I said, we tried to clean up Mike as well as we could. After the excitement died down, I looked in the corner of the room, and sitting there beneath that dim light bulb with a piece of red cloth, another shirt and his bamboo needle, was my friend, Mike Christian. He was sitting there with his eyes almost shut from the beating he had received, making another American flag. He was not making the flag because it made Mike Christian feel better. He was making that flag because he knew how important it was to us to be able to Pledge our allegiance to our flag and country.

So the next time you say the Pledge of Allegiance, you must never forget the sacrifice and courage that thousands of Americans have made to build our nation and promote freedom around the world. You must remember our duty, our honor, and our country."

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
